Work From Home

The final topic I would like to cover that is an essential characteristic of living the good (self-sufficient) life is having the ability to make a residual income from home and be your own boss. Because, how can on hope to be an independent and free soul if you must begrudgingly march off the work every day starting early and the morning extending to the late at night without having any left-over juice to pursue what matters most to you: friends, family, hobbies, etc. Yes, you may use any one of the self-help techniques that I have mentioned in one of my previous postings in order to overcome the stressors associated with participating in the rat-race, but you will still be hopelessly deprived of the opportunity of LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST BY DOING WHAT YOU WANT WHEN YOU WANT!
I know what you are probably thinking as I have thought the same myself when first introduced to the concept: "No s%@# Sherlock, but do you really expect me to consider walking away from a steady job in THIS economy only to buy into some SCAM!" Or given the current economic situation you may not have a job in the first place and the last thing you want to do is spend the little reservoir of cash you have left when you have absolutely no clue how you're going to put food on the table or keep a roof over your head for another month.
But luckily for you there are multiple ways to research the validity of particular programs being promoted that allow you to critically deduce what is legitimate and what is a scam. While that is a topic in itself that cannot be adequately covered in the breadth of this particular posting, perhaps I will try and do so soon. But in the mean-time I strongly advise you to do some research of your own, and if you do I'm sure the programs I have listed (programs that I am currently using mind you; from data entry work to getting paid for taking surveys) will check out as not only being legitimate but among the best services available.

Self-Help

Our culture has been labeled as being "shell-shocked" by leading sociologists and psychologists after making the unfortunate observation of the societal pervasion of psychological distress that EVERYONE (from the very young to the most elder seniority) experiences on an all-too-regular basis. To make matters worse, it has been posited by some of the most respected names in the alternative health field (Dr. Mercola among them) that roughly 85% of physical health is a manifestation of an underlying emotional aberration.
So now you may be starting to see the relationship between self-help and living a self-sufficient lifestyle, because anyone who has sought psychiatric help before (or has merely researched the matter) knows the phenomenal expense of visiting a therapist. Further, the resultant product is only mild and shallow relief only made apparent with long-term application with the "therapeutic" measures taken consisting of techniques which trigger further grief and misery. Time and time again it seems that the best solution is to take matters into our own hands and not remain dependant upon the psychiatric or medical profession to supply us with what can only be wrought from within. If you are any at all like me and would like to take your psychic health into your own hands in the name of greater self-sufficient Independence, then I highly advocate you visit the list of programs that I have achieved the most success from. I wish you luck on your path to mental/emotional freedom.

Health

Since I've covered the obvious component of living a self-sufficient lifestyle (alternative energy), I would now like to share an aspect of the diy life that is often overlooked: health. Like alternative energy, equally important is maintaining bodily health through detoxification, diet and exercise. These three things, all being inextricably linked with one-another, together will allow you to reduce or eliminate medical bills; eliminate dependence upon the medical establishment and the subsequent check-ups, pills, etc; and ease your mind by not being concerned about the state of public health care. Essentially, you will be IN CONTROL of your your life!

Unfortunately, there are the misconceptions that in order to be healthy you need to spend an atrocious amount of money on specialized supplements, exercise gizmos, food, gym memberships and whatever other false information has been toted by pseudo-nutritionists and/or fitness "professionals". The truth of the matter is that if you occasionally detox through fasting, make mild modifications to your diet (such a dirty word. Are you cringing yet?) and exercise for a few minutes every so often then you will be bursting with energy and experiencing the supreme bliss of being healthy and free. So seize your Independence from the medical profession by checking out the list I have compiled with some of the best programs available in losing weight and feeling great, again, with the least amount of effort or money involved as possible.

DIY Alternative Energy

We're mercilessly bombarded by the continuous and arbitrary increases of our gas and electricity bills. We're riddled with toxins and scraping holes into our environmental equanimity to boot. All for what? To be slaves to foreign oil and electrical companies? While everybody seems to want to change this atrocious situation as made evident from the media coverage alternative energy has been receiving, our culture is still in a bit of an energetic pickle. Alternative energy is available but at the same time ridiculously expensive - often taking decades to pay itself off with commercially installed kits. While at the same time, the average Joe is just trying to make ends meet by obediently throwing his money at the gas and electric companies with a sigh and a shrug. So what are we citizens to do? Just sit back and take the beating like we have been doing for the past thirty-some odd years. If you contemplate this question for a moment you'll soon inevitably realize that that's hardly a possibility. The unemployment rate is at an alarming high and the economy is at an astounding low. In order to thrive during this struggling era, we must find alternative energy sources that fit the criteria of being practical, economical and environmental.
There are innumerable reasons for switching to an alternative power source. For one: it reduces environmental pollution. Practically everyone has seen Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth", so they now realize the depletion of our Earth's ozone layer that preserves life on our fragile planet. But the inconvenience of the matter doesn't stop there. The combination of the reduced plants and other oxygen producing vegetation coupled with the increase in environmental pollutants has seriously reduced the oxygen levels on our planet. As modern research has indicated, this is a factor implicated in serious mental and physical problems such as autism, ADD, ADHD, antisocial personality disorder and other highly detrimental conditions that is inflicting all levels of society. Additionally, the depletion of the atmosphere has allowed in an unprecedented level of UV rays producing further physiological stress often taking the form of steadily increasing skin cancer rates.
Now for the obvious: it's cheaper, and I'm fairly certain that the majority of people are intimately familiar with the inherent importance of an energy system that isn't dependent on international exports or greedy national corporations. The only problem is that it only seems to be cheaper in the LONG run...costing tens of thousands of dollars to set up and taking decades for it to pay itself off. What the people of this country truly need now more than ever is an easy-to-follow, understandable set of programs/systems that anybody can do themselves with the minimal amount of time and effort as possible. Above this post is a list of the best programs I have found in the field of DIY alternative energy that quite sufficiently fit this bill. You can either spend hours researching online and years of fruitless experimentation with the multitude of the other programs, diagrams, etc., out there (like I unfortunately did), or spend a couple of minutes looking into, or at least considering, this short list of champs that I have compiled so that you don't waste the same amount of time, effort or money that I did. That is an inconvenience that nobody can any longer afford.

Efficient Self-Sufficiency's Mission Statement

The purpose of creating this blog is to, above all else, find resolution to micro- and macro social problems through the facilitation of greater self-sufficiency. In my opinion, this includes topics such as alternative energy, health, fitness and self-help. To do so, I will write summaries and reviews for products that I legitimately believe in so that you, the reader, may experience the freedom of self-sufficiency as efficiently and economically as possible. Additionally, I will include news articles and commentary related to all the fore mentioned subject matters.
With the economic struggle we are all facing, measures need to be taken now more than ever to increase our personal and global self-sufficiency if we not only want to survive....but thrive, and live the good life of health, well-being and FREEDOM!
